Bishops
Bishops (also called Diocesan College) is a private boy’s school in Cape Town. They are one of the leading schools relating to the implementation and usage of Information Technology in the class room.
General
Technosoft has been involved in various aspects of implementation software technologies at Bishops. These include the marks system, telephone system, staff notice board and pink notice to name but a few. Some of the larger projects are listed below.
Remote Academic Comments
A remote application to update pupil comments off-line. Teaches would download their pupil’s details and be able to update the comments at home. Once they completed the comments, it would automatically synchronize back to the server and be integrated with their reports.
My Bishops Life
A portal that allows the parents to view the pupil’s marks and extramural actives online through the Bishops website. Parents would have real-time access and have the ability to interact with the teachers.
Laptop Repairs Program
They have an extensive Laptop program, requiring all the pupils to have a Laptop. Information Technology is a core part of the day to day operation of the school. As with all technology, these can sometimes break and they needed a system to help the support desk to manage all laptops that are currently under repairs.
